Monica Hagström has signed a 2-year contract with Åland United. The 24-year-old midfielder from Mellersta Österbotten comes closest to being a league player in Lithuania with FC Gintra. Before that Hagström played with AIK in both OBOS Damallsvenskan and Elitetta. Before her stay in AIK, "Monni" played for four seasons in Åland United where she scored 11 goals in 79 matches. A strong memory that has stuck with the people of Åland is when Monni, after a cup gold, gave her medal to a junior from Åland on the journey home. Monni will be a given crowd favorite in the coming seasons.
