ÅLAND UNITEDS POLICY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Åland United strives to conduct a long-term sustainable business with regard to both

social, economic and environmental aspects. We want the entire association to deal with

sustainability work and for everyone within the association to consider sustainability in

the decisions that are made.

The policy was approved by the Åland United board 3.1.2024.

Social sustainability means for the Åland United:

- Create good working conditions for the staff (managers, players and officials) with an emphasis on well-being, balance between performance and recovery and the opportunity for individual development

- Be an example in society in terms of sporting activities, strive to have an equal board

- Make it easier for immigrant players to become involved in society

- Follow a drug policy

- Equality, equal treatment of all players, equal access to information, individual coaching, physical training, care, rehabilitation and the clubs other services. There should be a low threshold for turning to coaches or others in the management staff, or to the board to report

any misconduct. At the end of each season, an anonymous evaluation is made via questionnaires when the overall picture is obtained.

- Equality work includes countering racism. The club distances itself from unwelcome statements based on peoples ethnicity or culture. It is the individuals experience that forms the basis for when expressions are unwelcome.

- The club ensures and guarantees a safe environment for young players by having more people in the management staff who monitor the operating environment and that one person on the board has special youth responsibility. The club checks any criminal background of people participating in the activity.

- Accessibility to take part in the association's activities is promoted through the WHA's

accessibility adaptations, free entry for companions, written information about the association and the team, the matches are televised and assisting those who have special requests.

Economic sustainability means for the Åland United:

- Operate the business according to sound economic principles,

- Contribute to the players and leaders receiving a fair financial compensation and

- Contribute to public opinion to achieve equal pay for players.

Environmental sustainability means for the Åland:

For the association, environmental sustainability means that the associations environmental impact must be gradually reduced through conscious choices and measures. This means that in our daily operations we strive to:

- Actively inform about and discuss environmental issues internally,

- Limit the environmental impact of our transport as much as possible. This is done, for example, by carpooling to training and matches,

- Save on electricity by always switching off the lighting in the locker rooms and training venues when these are not in use,

- Save on electricity and water by washing our training and match clothes with full machines, as well as by showering efficiently after training and matches and

- Save resources and promote recycling by sorting our waste as much as possible.
