Åland United signs South African midfielder

Åland United is proud to announce the signing of South African midfielder Jessica Wade. The 22-year-old national team player joins from JVW FC and has signed a two-year contract for the 2026–2027 seasons. She will strengthen the squad immediately ahead of the upcoming season.

“I am very pleased with the signing of Jessica Wade, an exciting central midfielder who has just completed her first and is currently on her second camp with the South African senior national team. She has also gained valuable experience playing for South Africa’s U20 and U17 national teams. Jessica has two truly excellent feet and brings strong passing qualities in both the long and short game. On top of that, she has a fantastic strike and is a confident goalscorer with both her left and right foot,” says Sporting Director Pierre Persson.
