Åland United is pleased to announce that Violah Nambi will continue with the team for the 2026 season. The forward, who holds both Swedish and Ugandan citizenship, has in recent years established herself as an important player in the squad.
Sport Director Piere Persson highlights the value of the extension:
“We are very pleased that Viola is extending her stay with Åland United and we see continued potential for development going into the 2026 season. So far, she has scored quite a few points, but we both believe and are convinced that there are even more points to come next season.”
Head Coach Daniel Norrmén also emphasizes the importance of the extension:
“Violah signing for another season is very good news as we are working to build more continuity in the team. With Violah, we get an attacking player who has already contributed quite a few points, but above all has the potential to deliver even more. Violah also gives us that kind of player who can do something unexpected on the pitch, break the pattern, and that should not be underestimated.”
Here is what Violah herself says about extending with Åland United:
“I am really happy to be able to stay here for another season. I love this team, the environment and the support I have received. It was not a difficult decision to make. I feel at home here and that is what matters the most to me. Heja Åland 🇦🇽.”
Åland United is looking forward to the 2026 season and is convinced that Violah Nambi will continue to play an important role in the team’s success.
