Åland United Appoints New Sporting and Club Director

Åland United is pleased to announce that Pierre Persson will take on the role of the club’s new Sporting and Club Director. With a solid background in football and organisational development, Pierre will play a key role in strengthening Åland United’s position both on and off the pitch.
“We are very proud to welcome Pierre to Åland and Åland United.He has demonstrated a strong commitment to the development of women’s football in his previous elite-level roles as Head Coach, Sporting Director, General Manager and Club Manager, and he possesses the leadership qualities we are looking for to take the club to the next level,” says Katarina Donning, Chair of Åland United.
In his new role, Pierre will be responsible for the club’s sporting strategy, operational development, and overall management. His appointment marks an important step in Åland United’s long-term commitment to sustainable growth and continued success on the national stage.
“I look forward to working together with the players, staff and board to further develop Åland United’s vision.The club has a strong culture and great potential, and I am honoured to be part of this journey,” says Pierre, who is leaving GUSK in Uppsala and moving to Åland to take up the position on 1 September.
