The Finnish U19 national team has played an exciting European Championship qualification tournament in Bulgaria, securing a spot in the next round with an impressive 0–4 victory in their final group match against the hosts, Bulgaria! Particularly exciting for Åland United is the stellar performance of our two talents, Tilda Råtts and Olivia Ulenius, who truly made their mark during the tournament.
After two tough games – a narrow 0–1 loss to Norway and a 3–1 defeat against Ireland – the team was under pressure to deliver in the final match. And they did! In the decisive game against Bulgaria, the Finnish team showcased an outstanding performance.
Olivia Ulenius opened the scoring in the 8th minute, followed by Tilda Råtts, who doubled the lead just a minute later. Before halftime, Tilda netted her second goal in the 44th minute, and in the 53rd minute, Olivia sealed the victory with her second strike, making it 0–4. A powerful duo that played a key role in the success!
With this victory, Finland's U19 team has advanced to the semifinals, which will take place next year. The opponents will be drawn this coming Friday.
