With a solid 2–0 victory in today’s second leg against Scotland at Bolt Arena in Helsinki, the Finnish women’s national team has secured their place in the upcoming European Championship. After a goalless 0–0 draw in Friday’s match in Edinburgh, the team seized the opportunity on home turf and delivered a strong performance to clinch qualification.

Åland United’s Connection to the National Team

Åland United is proud that several former players have been part of Finland’s journey to the European Championship. Dana Leskinen, Sanni Ojanen, Nora Heroum, Adelina Engman and Anna Tamminen all played important roles in previous qualifying matches. Although they weren’t on the pitch today, their contributions earlier in the campaign were significant.

Their involvement highlights the vital role Åland United plays in developing talent that can excel on the international stage.

A Milestone for Finnish Women’s Football

Securing a spot in the European Championship is a major achievement for Finnish women’s football, reflecting the hard work of both the national team and the clubs that support player development.

Åland United congratulates the national team on this success and looks forward to following their performances in the European Championship. Best of luck, Suomi!
