A Real Test Awaits in Helsinki

This Sunday, a true test awaits in Helsinki as Åland United face league leaders HJK – a team that has impressed throughout the season with a series of wins. The only team to have taken points from them so far? Åland United.

Ahead of the match, head coach Daniel Norrmén says:

"A great challenge awaits us now as we take on an HJK side that has impressed so far this season, with nothing but wins – except against us earlier this spring. It’s a challenge we’re really looking forward to and are ready to take on.Even though we’ll need to be strong defensively to give ourselves a chance against HJK, it’s just as much about going there and playing our own game. We’re not going into the match just to defend – we’re going there to compete. And I believe we can do that with confidence, based on our previous meetings with HJK this year, which have all been close."

When the teams last met on May 3, the game ended in a 0–0 draw – a strong performance that showed we can match HJK on equal terms.
